📘 IELTS Preparation Guide
What Is IELTS?
IELTS stands for the International English Language Testing System. It is one of the most widely accepted English proficiency tests for non-native speakers who plan to study, work, or immigrate to an English-speaking country.
Who Needs IELTS?
You may need to take the IELTS exam if you are planning to:
- Study at an English-speaking university
- Apply for a job in an English-speaking country
- Apply for immigration or a visa where English proficiency is required
How Is IELTS Scored?
Each section (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is scored on a band scale from 1 to 9. The average of these scores becomes your overall band score.

What If I Don’t Know Enough Vocabulary?
No problem! I’ve created over 160 topic-based PowerPoint lessons that introduce essential vocabulary and practice questions.
If you book in advance, I can also prepare a custom lesson on a topic of your choice to help you gain confidence with new content.
American or British English?
In the IELTS Speaking test, you’re expected to use consistent vocabulary and pronunciation - either in American or British English, not both.
👩🏫 I teach American English, so I recommend my lessons for students preparing for the US English style of the exam.
